Lesson Plan (made by Svetlana Larionova)

Topic: My Free Time (Unit 3 “Learning more about the UK of Great Britain and Northern Ireland”, section 7 “Spending Free Time”, “Enjoy English” 6-th form M.Z. Biboletova)

Aims:

  • to practice speaking about free time

  • to practice reading and listening for specific information

  • to practice writing words and word combinations related with the theme

Sub-Aims:

  • to practice active vocabulary from the Student’s book (p.109, ex.130 )

  • to focus on some self-made video related with eliciting specific information

  • to share opinions about free time

  • to fill in gaps in writing using words and word combinations related with the theme



Personal Aims:

  • to prepare a perfect slide-show for a teacher as a plan, for pupils as demonstrative aids

  • to make video about teacher’s hobbies related with the theme

  • to motivate students for speaking, listening, writing and reading

Students:

Level: Intermediate

Grade: 6-th form (a group of 12 pupils)

Age: 11-12

Materials:

  • self-made video about teacher’s hobbies

  • presentation of a lesson including a message from the teacher, proverbs, pictures of different hobbies, useful phrases, word combinations which can help students

  • CD (unit3 ,section 7, p.110, ex.132 )

  • student’s books (6-th form M.Z. Biboletova )

  • computers for every student

  • tests for checking (two tasks)

  • activity books

Assumptions:

  • vocabulary related with the theme “My free time”

  • asking questions about different hobbies



Anticipated Problems & Solutions:

  • misunderstanding of new vocabulary

  • incorrect using of new vocabulary

  • problems (difficulties) with using computers

Hi, I’d like to tell you about my favourite activities. I’m fond of doing things myself (d). I’ve got a small collection of fancy works. I adore music of any kind and enjoy singing songs(a) and listening to music(e). On Sundays I prefer going out(h) to the cinema, to the museum or to the café to have a snack.
