Monument "Friendship of Peoples"

To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the entry of Udmurtia into the Russian state, the city authorities decided to erect a monument in honor of the indestructible friendship of the Russian and Udmurt peoples. The grand opening of the monument took place in 1972. The dominant architectural and landscape composition is a 46-meter obelisk consisting of two converging pylons, lined with stainless steel plates. Mikhailovsky column

Grand Duke Mikhail Romanov long and fruitfully oversaw the defense industry of the Russian Empire. It was during this period that Izhevsk became one of the largest weapon centers in the country. The building of Izhevsk Opera, erected in 1984, can rightly be considered one of the architectural highlights of the city. Its exterior is urbanistic, which is completely uncharacteristic of opera theaters. The facade of the white-stone building from the front side is divided by high pylons topped with colorful sculptures. Peter and Fevronia at the boat

Peter and Fevronia of Murom are considered in Russia as the main symbol of love and loyalty, the inviolability of marriage bonds. A monument dedicated to them in the city was solemnly opened in 2012. The sculptural composition depicts saints standing against the background of the Old Russian boat, on the mast of which the banner with the face of the Mother of God is visible. Memorial to the Heroes of the Civil War

Izhik

The main talisman of the city is the colorful sculpture of Izhika, installed on the Central Square during the celebration of the 250th anniversary of Izhevsk. The figure of the mischievous little boy, dressed in a caftan and a hat-cylinder, was cast in the workshops of Izhstal. Material for the 1.5-meter monument was collected by the whole world. A collection of old keys was announced, which the townspeople put in special boxes placed in public places. From 180 kg. metal, collected in this way, and created Izhika.

Crocodile Monument
