The history of the university

It was formed in 1933. The first graduation of the Barnaul Teaching Institute took place in 1935. In 1936 36 teachers of biology and chemistry graduated from the Institute. So begins the history of the existing Pedagogical Institute.

In the university comfortable conditions for the educational and research activities of students are created. The university has laboratories, computer labs, language laboratories, classrooms, a good library.

Alt GPU cooperates actively with universities of France, Germany, Poland, USA, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan in the sphere of scientific research. Last year the students from France, Poland, Kazakhstan, and the United States were trained here.

Extra-curricular life of students

The life of students consists of participation in sports, creative, social life of the university. Sports clubs are organized for enthusiasts of physical culture, also sports competitions are regularly held here .Such creative groups as «Viva-Dance», «Inspiration», «Onyx» and «Buff» theatre, «VES-Studio» and «Lady Blues» work successfully in the UNIVERSITY.
