 The university was founded in 1636. It is situated near Boston in Massachusetts. In 1630 the university was called after John Harvard, a former British minister, who emigrated to America and gifted the university half of his property.

 Yale University was founded on the 9 th of October, 1701, in New Heaven, Connecticut as a “Royal College of Connecticut Colony”. In 1718 the college was named after an English merchant Yale, who gifted the college 560 pounds and 417 books.
