AT THE CERAMICS STUDIO
Adrienne is a ceramics instructor. Every morning she walks to her studio. She cleans and prepares for her classes. She always sweeps the floor and washes the tables and pottery wheels. Sometimes, she unloads and loads the kin. She usually wedges the new clay und stirs the glazes. Every weekend she fires the kiln.
Adrienne keeps the ceramics tools in a large cabinet, but before her class arrives, she washes all of the sponges and brushes. Then, she places the ceramic tools on the table. She fills pails with clean water and puts them next to the pottery wheels.
Linda is a student in Adrienne's pottery class.
Mark is also a student at the ceramics studio, but he never uses the wheel Mark builds vessels using slabs and coils of clay. He usually uses a rolling pin, to flatten the day and a knife to cut shapes.
Sometimes, Mark uses a loop tool and a needle tool to carve decoration in the surface of these shapes. Then, he uses a sponge to wet the edges. He attaches the edges with slurry. After he constructs a place, he always lets it dry completely, before Adrienne louds it into the kiln.

FOUND ART / ASSEMBLAGE SCULPTURE
Jim made an assemblage sculpture about his hometown.
He found an old window frame, a table and two chairs in his garage. He sanded the wood. He took the glass out of the window frame. He cut the table into pieces and attached them to the frame. He bought a wooden duck at an antique store, then he sanded and painted it. He gathered sticks from his backyard and twisted them into a circle to make them into a nest. He glued the duck into the nest, then attached it to the top of the frame. He attached the rest of the sticks to the bottom of frame.
Maureen also made a found-object sculpture.
She bought a mannequin from a department store and took it apart. She had an old office chair in her attic and she used the bottom of it. She recycled some cast iron pieces from her grill and attached them as shelves. Then, she balanced the mannequin on the shelves.
