Конспект внеклассного мероприятия

по английскому языку

для 6 классов

на тему: «Праздники. День святого Валентина»

Цели мероприятия:

Практическая цель: формирование и совершенствование всех видов речевой деятельности (аудирование, чтение, говорение, письмо).

Развивающая цель: развитие познавательных способностей, навыков общения на изучаемом языке формирование навыков самоконтроля и контроля речи других учащихся, а также развитие пси­хических функций учащихся: мышления, эмоций, вни­мания, памяти.

Образовательная цель: формирование личности способной к творческой деятельности.

Воспитательная цель: воспитывать интерес к изучаемому предмету, уметь коллективно решать поставленные задачи.

Задачи урока:

Воспитательная: приобщение учащихся к культуре, традициям и реалиям страны изучаемого языка в рамках темы, отвечающим опыту, интересам, психологическим особенностям учащихся; повысить мотивацию учащихся к изучению иностранного языка посредством игровых моментов;

Развивающая: систематическое развитие умений в аудировании, говорении, чтении и письме в рамках темы;

Образовательная: закрепить знания учащихся по теме: «Праздники. День Святого Валентина», расширить общий кругозор учащихся.

Оформление кабинета: интерактивная доска, кабинет оформлен к празднику "День влюбленных", видео материалы, плакаты.

Ход урока:

1. Warming up. (Pre- activity).

Hello boys and girls. I am happy to see you at our lesson. Today we are going to speak about holidays in G.B. But first of all let us remember about holidays in our country. What are they? (ученики отвечают на вопрос).

And now we start! But first, I would like to ask you a question! Are fond of holidays?

Pupils. Of course, we are!

Teacher. Why do like holidays?

Pupils. We do not study, we have a rest, we have fun, and we have a holiday dinner!

Teacher. Certainly! And today we are going to speak about….But guess yourselves! About what are we going to speak today?

Teacher. Pupils! Look at the first slide of my presentation and give me the names of holidays! Do it in terns!

Pupils of the 1 team: Easter

Pupils of the 2 team: Halloween

Pupils of the 1 team: St. Valentine`s Day

Pupils of the 2 team: Christmas, New Year

2. While-activity.

Teacher. What are we going to speak about?

Pupils. We are going to speak about British holidays.

Teacher. Yes, you are right! Excellent! And about St. Valentine`s Day.

And now let us speak about holidays in G.B. Let us listen to your classmates, they will tell us about them, listen to them very carefully, because after that we will have a competition. (ученики рассказывают про праздники в Британии)

1-й ученик - Christmas

On the 25th of December there is the greatest holiday of all in England – Christmas. People send Christmas cards to their friends and relatives. People buy a Christmas tree and decorate it with toys, colored balls and lights. Children wake up early to find stockings full of small presents on their bed.

2-й ученик - New Year

New Year’s Eve all British celebrate on the 31st of December. Most people visit with friends and relatives. At midnight they sing New Year songs and wish a happy New Year.

3-й ученик - St. Valentine’s day

On the 14th of February there is St. Valentine’s Day. People send Valentine’s cards to someone they love. Usually they don’t sing them – you must guess who sent cards to you.

4-й ученик - Mother’s day

In March there is a holiday for English women – Mother’s Day. People in the family try to help her. On that day they visit their mothers and give them presents and “A Mother’s Day Card”

5-й ученик - Easter

In April or at the end of March English people celebrate Easter Day. On Easter Sunday children get chocolate eggs and rabbits.

6-й ученик - April Fool’s Day

April Fool’s Day is on the 1st of April. English children like this day very much. They play jokes and tricks on other people, even on teachers.

7-й ученик - Father’s day 

In June the English people celebrate Father’s Day. On that day children send cards and give presents to their father’s.

8-й ученик - Halloween

On the 31st of October there is Halloween. The symbol of this holiday is «Jack-o-lantern». People make it from a pumpkin. Children like Halloween parties, they put on witch’s and  ghost’s dresses. They go “trick or treat”.

Thank you. And now let us start our competition. Let us meet our judges. We have 2 teams. You should introduce yourselves. (название и девиз)

№ 1. All of us like holidays. And in our first task I `ll name you some words and you should associated them with the holidays”. The winners will be the team that knows the large number of words. You get 1 point for each word.

(A Christmas tree, romantic presents, a pumpkin, a turkey, a jack-o-lantern, a piece of coal or a coin; valentine-cards, First Footing, a church service, decorating eggs, stockings, rabbits, costumes and masks, Santa Claus; witches, vampires and ghosts; carol singing.)

№ 2. And now let us speak about a romantic holiday we will celebrate on the 14^th of February, it is St. Valentine’s day - a romantic day with cards, roses, candy, cupids and kisses. (слайд 1)

I`ll give you questions and if you give the right answer you will get a point. (слайды с вопросами по праздникам)

№ 3. And now I want you to do your own cards and you should write a poem. The team that do the best card will get 5 points (в течение 5 мин предлагаю сделать валентинку).

№ 4. And now I suggest you to do a short test- “How romantic are you?”

3. Post-activity

Our competition is over. Now our judges will tell us about the results.
