Grigory Ivanovich Chagovets was a Russian soldier, the Hero of the Soviet Union, took part in the Great Patriotic war. He was born in 1922 in the village Novoaleksandrovka, in Ukraine.

He was drafted into the Navy in 1941 from the territory of our native district where he was living at that time. He took part in the Great Patriotic war since June 1943. During the war he was a pilot at the Baltic Fleet. By September 1944 he had made 165 fight flights. He provided the army with recon information about the arms of the enemy. He also took part in the battles and downed enemy aircrafts. On the 16^th of September 1944 during his recon flight he was attacked by the enemy aircrafts and downed. The pilot died.

Grigory Ivanovich was given the rank of the Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously.

Nikolay Grigorievich Ulitin was a Russian soldier, the Hero of the Soviet Union, took part in the Great Patriotic war. He was born in 1923 in our hometown Chertkovo in the family of a worker. He left school after the 7^th form, graduated from a vocational school, worked as a locksmith.

He was drafted into the Army in 1941. In 1943 he graduated from the courses for lieutenants. He was the commander of the 9th company of the 1147th infantry regiment. On the 2nd of January 1944 they were defending a strongpoint near the village Nazarovka (Ukraine). They reflected the enemy and all of them were killed, but they did not leave the point.

Nikolay Grigorievich Ulitin was given the rank of the Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously. He was also awarded the Order of Lenin, the Red Star as well as other medals.

Aleksey Vasilievich Florenko was a Russian soldier, the Hero of the Soviet Union, took part in the Great Patriotic war. He was born in 1922 in the village Bakay, Chertkovsky district in the family of a peasant. Then the family moved to the Ural.

He was drafted into the Army in 1941. He took part in the battles since 1942. In 1944 he graduated from the Artillery school in Penza. He fought at Volchovsky and Belorusky Fronts. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star. Most of all he distinguished himself in the battles while liberation of Belorussia and Poland. On the 24^th of July in the battle near Malinniki in Poland he threw himself at the enemy tank with a grenade and was killed. He was berried in Poland.

Aleksey Vasilievich Florenko was given the rank of the Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously.
