Прочитай сказку «Why the Crocodile Does Not Eat Hens» и выполни задания после текста.

Do you know why crocodiles do not eat hens? Let me tell you.

One day a hen comes to the river. She wants to drink water there.

The crocodile sees her and comes up to her. He is very hungry and wants to eat her up.

But she says, 'Don't eat me because you are my brother.' The crocodile lets her go: he cannot eat his sister!

The next day, when the hen comes to the river again, the crocodile decides to eat her up.

But again the hen says that he is her brother. And again the crocodile does not eat her.

Then he thinks: 'How can I be her brother? I live in the water, and she doesn't.'

The crocodile decides to go to his friend, a lizard.

'Oh, my friend! A big hen comes to the river every day and when I want to eat her, she says that I am her brother. How can it be?'

'Oh, my silly friend!' the lizard answers. 'Don't you know that the hen, the turtle, the lizard lay eggs as crocodiles do, my dear? So we all are brothers and sisters. Do you understand?'

'Oh, thank you very much,' says the crocodile.

Now you know why crocodiles never eat hens!
